Fluoride Officially Classified as a Neurotoxin

The movement to remove industrial sodium fluoride from the world’s water supply has been growing in recent years, with evidence coming out against the additive from several sources.

Now, a report from the world’s oldest and most prestigious medical journal, The Lancet, has officially classified fluoride as a neurotoxin — in the same category as arsenic, lead and mercury.

Creamy Dairy Products!

From milk to icecream to yoghurt, it is common practice to add the emulsifier E407.

E407 Carrageenan a fibre extracted from seaweed, it has recently been linked with cancer because it may become contaminated when ethylene oxide is added to an inferior product, this results in ethylene chlorohydrins forming, a highly carcinogenic compound; linked to toxic hazards, including ulcers and cancer; the most serious concerns relate to degraded carrageen, which is not a permitted additive; however, native carrageen an, which is used, may become degraded in the gut.

Antibiotics in Meat and Dairy Products

I am allergic to many antibiotics. ever since I moved into the Middle East in 2003, I have often suffered from excessive bloating (water retention) and severe pain where my kidneys are.

A few weeks back, I picked up some Mutton. Made a delicious curry too. After consuming the meat, I started to feel very uneasy. I told myself, this can't be IT!

So a few days back, I picked up a piece of Pakistani Lamb from Carrefour (City Centre, Dubai). The idea was to make a nice Soup. In the end, I made a curry. It DID NOT pass my antibiotic test.

Nadec Milk products give me a great deal of grief. so is the case with Al Rawabi. Al Ain dairy products is not to toxic for my health. Any ways, I am off all dairy products - FOR GOOD!

I am reproducing some of the News Items that showed up on a google search.

If any of the publishers feel their copyright has been violated, sorry folk. The right of Humans (especially young children) to have good health is of more concern to me than any other right.

Avoid these Six Colours

Food Standards Agency cites Southampton study in new recommendation on food additives

10 April 2008

The Food Standards Agency today announced its decision to recommend to Ministers the phasing out of six colours in food and drink in the EU. These six colours - sunset yellow (E110), quinoline yellow (E104), carmoisine (E122), allura red (E129), tartrazine (E102) and ponceau 4R (E124) - had been shown to increase hyperactive behaviour of children in a study published by a University of Southampton research team in September 2007 (Jim Stevenson, Donna McCann, Edmund Sonuga-Barke and John Warner).

Toxic Colours

  • Sunset yellow (E110) - Colouring found in squashes
  • Carmoisine (E122) - Red colouring in jellies
  • Tartrazine (E102) - New colouring in lollies, fizzy drinks
  • Ponceau 4R (E124) - Red colouring
  • Quinoline yellow (E104) - Food colouring
  • Allura red AC (E129) - Orange/red food dye

The FSA Council says that the basis for its recommendation is that:
  • the Southampton study is "a scientific study of the highest quality";
  • there is an accumulating body of evidence that there is an association between the consumption of certain food colours and children's behaviour;
  • all food additives must be safe for use in order to be approved. The available evidence now leaves uncertainty as to whether that safety can be confidently asserted;
  • the technological function of colours in food is about conferring a consumer choice benefit rather than a safety benefit; and
  • a significant part of the UK food industry is already moving away from the use of artificial food colours in responding to consumer demand.

The Southampton research team welcomes the recognition by the FSA of the case for removal of these colours from food. The possible role of food colours in exacerbating the level of hyperactivity in children has been mooted for over 30 years. There has been accumulating evidence for such an effect on children with more extreme levels of hyperactivity or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). READ MORE»»

Amber: Canola Oil

The Label says, Cholesterol Free, which is not factually true.
Canola Oil has 0.9 Grams of Saturated Fat in a Tablespoon.

Country of Origin, the label claims is United Arab Emirates. Really? Since when did the UAE start cultivating Canola? Has anyone seen a Canola farm in the UAE?

What they really mean is that the canola oil is produced in the UAE (from imported seeds) - and bottled too!

The additives/ preservatives in the oil are the synthetic Anti-Oxidants BHA & BHT (E320 & E321)

Synthetic antioxidants
Most people think antioxidants are beneficial, and this is true for antioxidants such as Vitamin C and Vitamin E. However, there are two groups of synthetic antioxidants that can cause nasty side effects: gallates and synthetic antioxidants tBHQ, BHA and BHT. These additives are used in prevent rancidity in fats and oils.

Yoplait!

As I was about to get into the lift, a young man and a woman greeted me - and said, "we have some free gift for you!" My immediate response was, "I have no time for anything free," and I rushed.

Whilst in the lift, I wondered, aren't gifts always free?When I got back home, my wife told me they were "gifting yogurts" to all families in the building. Obviously Al Ain Food & Beverages were introducing a new product.

Before I could even consider tasting it, my wife reminded me "might as well check the ingredients before you eat it."So here it is: READ MORE»»
